Update: I’M BACK

*taps the mic* “Is this thing on?giphy-downsized

I’m back! After my SAT-imposed hiatus, it’s so awesome to be blogging again. The hiatus made me realize how much I actually love blogging, and how much it was a part of my daily life. I’ll be back to blogging every Mondays and Thursdays, as usual.

I wanted to use this post to give you all a brief update. I haven’t been doing that much reading as of late, but I’m planning on catching up during spring break (which is in two weeks!!). I have a lot of great arcs and manuscripts to read.

30238163 The first book up on my TBR is the arc of Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this book, and I’m really excited to read something other than YA contemporary because I’ve been writing a lot of that lately (more on that later!). If you’ve read Ace of Shades, or are planning to, definitely let me know what you think!

36449971 The next arc that I’m planning on reading is The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls by Jessica Spotswood. I love stories about sisters and the summer, so I requested it on NetGalley since it caught my eye. I think it’ll be a great read for over spring break.

35750311 Finally, the last arc that I’m planning on reading over the break is Tiffany Sly Lives Here Now  by Dana L. Davis. The cover automatically caught my attention, because it’s me! But also I lowkey love stories about family drama and togetherness. I think I’m really really going to enjoy this story.

I’d love to hear what you all have been reading, or planning to read! I’m planning on putting a ton of books on hold at my local library in the upcoming week.

Now, in terms of writing, I’ve made a lot of progress over my hiatus. My current WIP is now at 37K, and quickly approaching the midpoint. My minimal wordcount goal is 55K (I’m an underwriter), and I’m not too far away from that goal. My original goal was to finish the first draft by the end of this month, but school put an end to that. So I extended my self-imposed deadline to the end of April. I want to be able to work on revisions over summer break.

I also know that Camp Nano is coming up soon! I won’t be participating, because the last time I tried to take part in Camp Nano in April it didn’t go anywhere. I’ll definitely still be chipping away at my WIP, but I want to do so without the pressure of Camp. But if any of you are participating, let me know because I definitely want to cheer you all on! And once July roles around, I’ll definitely be participating then.

I know some of you follow me on Twitter, but in case you didn’t know, I also secured a summer internship at a college really close to me. I’ll be interning in a social neuroscience lab, and I’m soooo excited. I’ll be starting college apps this summer, which is both scary and exciting.

And that’s where I am! I’d love to hear how everyone’s doing? How’s school, life, reading, writing, blogging? Also, if there’s anything that you want me to do a post on, be sure to let me know. I’m so glad to be back!

Happy writing, happy reading, and happy writing!

-Breeny

  1. Welcome back! I hope your SAT score is everything you want it to be. I have The Garrett Girls and Tiffany Sly on my TBR too. I can’t wait to get to them. I hope you enjoy all three books!
