Thursday’s Thoughts: What 2018 Releases Should be on my 2018 TBR?

Thursday's Thoughts

Hello all, it’s been a while since I’ve posted a Thursday’s Thoughts post, but I had a question that I wanted to ask! What 2018 releases do you think should be on my 2018 TBR? 2018 is right around the corner, and while I do have a few books on my radar, but I’d love to know of more.

I’ll share the two releases that I think should be on all of your tbrs. The first is Love, Hate, and Other Filters by Samira Ahmed. I posted a review of the arc two months ago. It’s ownvoices and has a Muslim protagonist, Maya, who I adore. It’s timely and thought-provoking and real. And it comes out January 16th, which is in about a month!

The second release that should be on your radar is You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone by Rachel Lynn Solomon! My arc review will be posted next Monday, so be on the lookout for that. You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone is a Jewish ownvoices contemporary that has two sisters that are grappling with their mother who has Huntington’s Disease. The novel is full of complex characters, messy relationships, and sisterly bonding, and just overall greatness. Definitely add this book to your tbr!

I’d love to hear in the comments, which 2018 release you all are excited about! Each new year is exciting because we get so many new and wonderful books to read.

As always,

Happy reading, happy writing, and happy blogging!

  1. I’ve got a bit of a list going from 2 articles that were posted in the Life & Lit facebook group for YA releases and then went and scoured Goodreads for more. The ones I’m really interested in that are coming are: Dread Nation by Justina Ireland, Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young, Records of a Spaceborn Few (Wayfarer #3) by Becky Chambers, and Circe by Madeline Miller!
